Barbara Joan Russell is my pen name for YA thrillers and romantic fantasies. I write historical and contemporary romances under Ruth Ann Nordin.
I know this is going to date me, but my favorite authors among the YA genre are R.L. Stine and L.J. Smith.
R.L. Stine’s Fear Street series made me fall in love with thrillers that have some neat twist at the end. I have watched or read his Goosebumps series and the Haunting Hour series. Of course, I saw the movie, My favorite story is The Dare. That book, in my opinion, has the very best ending of all times. AS for L.J. Smith, I got hooked on her when I read The Vampire Diaries. I refuse to watch the TV series because I LOVE the books so much that I don’t want to ruin them by watching the show. (I know. It’s weird, but it’s how I am.) My very favorite series that she wrote, however, is Dark Visions because the heroine ended up with the guy I wanted her to. (Yes, I know there were other great elements in that series, but the romance was my favorite part.)
As I said, those books date me. I bet based on that, you can guess my age. In case you can’t, I’ll throw in another hint. I read those books when they first came out. 😉
Anyway, I had some old manuscripts I wrote about a decade ago. collecting dust. I decided I’d bring them back out, give them a fresh look over, and then republish them under Barbara Joan Russell.
I spend most of my time under my other author name, so the best way to get in touch with me is right here on this blog. Feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll be happy to reply to you!
